Juniata Mock Trial Wins Red Devil Sleeping Bowtie Tournament

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Juniata College Mock Trial edged out Princeton University to take first place at the Red Devil Sleeping Bowtie Tournament at Dickinson College this past weekend.
Juniata won by being successful in four trials over the two days against Stevenson University, Swarthmore College, Binghamton University, and Princeton University.
Zachary Riggall ’29 of Taylor, Pa., won two Outstanding Attorney Awards for both the Plaintiff and Defense sides of the case. Sasha Owen ’27 of Natick, Mass., won an Outstanding Attorney Award while competing for the Juniata Gold Team.
“It was significant that we were able to be so successful in a highly competitive tournament that had 29 teams competing from across the east,” said Coach Attorney David Andrews ’74. “Our Blue Team has had a great start to the season with a first place at Dickinson and a second place at the Wake Forest University Tournament. “
Juniata Mock Trial will next compete at the Happy Valley Invitational, where Juniata will attempt to defend its first place finish from last year’s tournament. Then, Juniata will proceed to the Notre Dame Golden Dome Invitational and to Santa Barbara, Calif., for its Mocktopia Tournament.
